Carrie has always been interested in a career in medicine. She entered college with the intention of becoming a veterinarian. But when she accidently found herself in a Pre-Physician Assistant club meeting in college instead of a Pre-Vet club meeting, she immediately knew she had found exactly what she wanted in a career.
During college, Carrie spent her summers as a volunteer EMT, and quickly learned that as a provider she was going to be seeing a patient at sone of the most difficult days of their lives. These experiences motivated Carrie to focus on disease prevention and overall health and wellness in order to start tackling small health concerns, taking the appropriate steps to keep her patients healthy and on the right path.
Carrie has worked as a physical therapy aide and as a mental health technician at a psychiatric hospital. “Through these experiences I had the opportunity to build many trusting relationships with patients, which is what I look forward to in my practice as family medicine PA.”
In her free time, Carrie loves to read, especially James Patterson and Harlan Cohen novels, enjoys hiking, is an avid football fan, Go NC State Wolfpack & NY Giants! And volunteers at local food and toy drives during the holidays.
